NUS bi day
As mentioned by
mankylarry on
bicon the other day...
Afternoon of Sunday 22 February, Nottingham University Portland Building: NUS bi networking day. Free to bi students from all over the country.
For booking info, see the NUS web site (campaigns menu > LGB section > link to bi day), or talk to
softfruit who I gather has some booking forms.
I'm going to be speaking, as the last item of the afternoon, probably around 4pm or 4.30pm. My brief is to be inspirational :-) Among other topics, I plan to allude to both BiCon and BCN and give them a bit of a plug.
If you're not in the National Union of Students, then technically you're not invited, or indeed allowed in, but I've said I'll bring in a couple of people to help me run a stall, and they said that's OK. So if anyone not in the NUS specially wants to go, then comment here or drop me a line.
I will happily put out bi/queer literature on the stall, so if anyone wants to send me flyers etc then go ahead. (I'm not volunteering to sell things though - that gets too complicated keeping track of the dosh - so just freebies please. And, sorry, but on this occasion I'm not volunteering to print things off stuff that's emailed to me. It needs to arrive "ready to go", so I can just make a stack of things to pack and take on the day.)
Probably there will be about 30 to 50 participants, all potentially taking flyers home to their various local LGBT groups, so it could be quite a good leafleting opportunity.
I already have a big wodge of BiCon "choose both" postcards, but would also love to get flyers/posters of the "Trainspotting parody" artwork, if that's been used/printed yet - has it? (Mainly because I thought that was brilliant, whereas I'm a bit politically dubious about the "choose both" text... but that's another story...)
My postal address is: J L Moore, BCM Material, London, England, WC1N 3XX. Forwarding on to me adds a day or two, so don't hang about if you do want to send me stuff. I'd recommend having it in the post by this coming weekend, or Monday 16 latest, if you want to be sure it'll reach me.
